Driving Speeds

The Driving Speeds tab on the Route Options dialog box is used to apply relative adjustments to the driving speeds, and looks like this:

Maptitude driving speeds

A Maptitude country pack typically has over 20 different road types. Each road type will typically have road segments with different road speeds. These speed variations allow for legal variations (e.g. urban vs. rural) and practicalities (e.g. a roundabout might technically be 60mph, but this is not a practical speed).

It is impractical to allow all of these speeds to be varied, so Maptitude groups the road types into five categories. These can be adjusted to be faster or slower using the sliders, and Maptitude will apply a multiplier to the database road speeds.
