MapPoint can also add warnings about construction (road work) to your list of route directions. These are only warnings, and MapPoint cannot automatically change your route to avoid these areas. Enable this feature by setting the Display construction on route check-box at the bottom of the Profile tab on the More route options dialog box (displayed by pressing More options on the Route Planner pane).
You should make sure you are using the latest construction information. MapPoint gets this information from a Microsoft web service. Update your construction information by connecting to the Internet, and selecting Update construction information at the bottom of the Route menu.
Here is an example of construction information appearing in a route:
The area of construction is highlighted on the map using a cyan route segment. In the directions, the construction is marked with an exclamation mark icon, the name of the town (Dumas in this example), and scheduled dates (June 11 2010-January 31, 2011 in this example).
