@mappingtoolsMicrosoft MapPoint 2009 came under quite a bit of criticism due to a drastic reduction in the number of available pushpin symbols. As well a reduction in the total number of pins, the available pushpin colors and basic pushpin types were also reduced.
MapPoint 2010 corrected this deficiency with the inclusion of virtually all the pushpins that were present in MapPoint 2004 & 2006, plus a few additional ones. Here is the full list of MapPoint 2010 pushpins and their corresponding indexes:
Pushpin indexes are only used when a pushpin’s symbol is set through the programming interface.

Use the Pushpin’s “Symbol” property. This is an integer index. See the list above for MapPoint 2010 indexes. Many of the “pins” and “marker shapes” are available in different colors. Note that different versions may have different indexes.

I create maps with unit numbers, is there a way to get the pushpin to show the store number form my spreadsheet instead of the symbol? This is always the firts column n my spreadsheet that I import. I’m using the 2011 version.
Not easily, no. The Multiple Symbol option could be used to import eight at a time, but this would be very inconvenient for all but the simplest datasets. The best approach might be with custom programming and custom symbols.
Is there a way to make the pushpins smaller? In the 2006 version, there are much smaller pushpins and in 2011, they are too big for the amount of data I am mapping
Choose the smaller pushpin symbols, or import your own smaller symbols.
Is there a way to change a pushpin color once it has been grouped on the board? We sorted some things by territory for our reps and then realized one needed to go to another rep, but I can’t find any way to change the existing pushpin.
Right click on the pushpin and select “Properties” from the popup menu.
When I right-click, it doesn’t give me that in the popup menu, because that’s what I expected it to be. It just shows what the pushpin info represents (name, city).
That sounds like the left mouse button – do you have your buttons reversed? (it is a Windows setting intended for left handed people, but I’ve never seen it used)
is there more that 50 numbered push pins? if so where can i get them.
There are just 50. You could create and add your own custom pushpins (or buy icons and use those). The Adding Custom Pushpin Symbols page describes how.
is there a way to make the push pins lager then what they are now on Mappoint 2011
The only way, would be to import your own custom set of pushpins.
