@mappingtoolsMapPoint’s Find dialog box can also be used to find places and pushpin data. Do this by displaying the Find dialog box and selecting the Place / Data tab. Enter the place name in the box at the top. You may find you need to enter the country or state as well. For example, in the screenshot below, “Statue of Liberty, NY” was entered in order to find New York’s Statue of Liberty, and not one of the various state parks or statues with similar names:

Press the Find button to search for possible matches. MapPoint will look for possible matching places and pushpins. If a match is found, MapPoint will center the map view on it, and it will be marked with a dot and a small label. If there are multiple possible matches, you can select a different match by clicking on it. MapPoint will then center the map on the new selection.
You can dismiss the Find dialog box by pressing Cancel. Or you can press OK and MapPoint will mark the selected match with a pushpin. This will also occur if you double click on the required match. The new pushpin will be added to the My pushpins pushpin set, which will be created if it does not already exist.
How do you remove the text bubble for places?
If I understand correctly, then clicking elsewhere on the map will remove the label. If you are referring to a pushpin “balloon”, then you can right click on the pushpin and hide the popup window (“balloon”) or delete the pushpin.
how do I restrict the Find places to only search pushpins
You can’t, although you can do a simple pushpin name search through the programming interface. This only returns pushpins, but it does not look for partial names, and will only return one of a duplicate (if you have pushpins with duplicate names – generally not recommended, but possible).
