Changing the Pushpin Symbol

It is possible to change the pushpin symbol that is used when you add a new pushpin. Do this by selecting the drop-down on the Create Pushpin drop-down button. This will display the available pushpin symbols:

Select the required symbol, and the button will change to show the current symbol. All new pushpins will use this symbol.

It is also possible to change the symbol for an existing pushpin symbol. Do this by selecting the pushpin and right clicking to display the following popup menu:

Select Properties from this menu to display the Pushpin properties dialog box:

Select the Symbol drop down box to change the pushpin’s symbol. Note that you can also use this dialog box to change the pushpin’s title, and to change the pushpin’s parent dataset.

Note that most versions of MapPoint ship with 2-300 different pushpin symbols. Use the scroll bar on the right of the symbol list to scroll through the symbols. Individual listings for different versions of MapPoint can be found here:

It is also possible to import your own custom pushpin symbols by pressing the Import custom symbol… button on the above Create Pushpin drop-down button.
